Semiramis Hotel

The original Semiramis hotel, at the South-East corner of Kasr El Nil Bridge, hosted several notable persons including Winston Churchill, before being replaced by the Intercontinental in the 1970s.

Heliopolis Palace Hotel

Victory College, Maadi

The second branch of Alexandria's prestigous Victoria College, renamed Victory College.

"Construction work began on the 25 acre site in 1949 and facilities included science labs, dormitories, common rooms, lecture theatre and swimming pool. It was designed by John W. Poltock"

The campus still stands.
